This is to inform you about three great (and different!) photography workshops coming up in the next few months. All will be led by Nigel Forster ABIPP.

The two locations based workshops are designed for those with some experience. If you would prefer a beginners workshop in Pembrokeshire or the Brecon Beacons, we’ll be sending out details of dates in the next week or two.

SOUTH WALES HERITAGE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP (BASED FROM TALYBONT ON USK) – Saturday 10th May 2014 9.00 am – 5.30 pm

This is the start of a series of ‘Themed’ workshops; largely designed for those with a previous understanding of photography or who have already been on a beginners course. The emphasis is therefore on optimising your camera settings, composition of subjects within the chosen theme and post-processing your images to get the maximum effect from your best images. The theme of this workshop is photographing some of the best heritage sites in South Wales. THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR UP TO 6 PEOPLE AND THERE ARE THREE SPACES LEFT.

PHOTOSHOP FOR BEGINNERS (BASED FROM TALYBONT ON USK) – Saturday 7th June 2014 9.30 am – 4.30 pm

This day is aimed at beginners or those with little experience of Post-Processing. We will use Photoshop Elements 11 (the most cost effective introduction to photoshop!) and cover RAW processing (during the morning session) and using key tools and functions in Photoshop (during the afternoon session). The attached agenda summarises what we will cover during the day. Laptops are available for use during the day (1 between 2) and course notes are provided in PDF form. You are welcome to bring along any images you have (in either JPEG or RAW format). The agenda shown is indicative: in particular on the day we will further divide the AM & PM sessions with short breaks in the middle in order to allow time for review and enable you to absorb the information! THIS IS A NEW WORKSHOP FOR UP TO 6 PARTICIPANTS

PEMBROKESHIRE LANDSCAPE WORKSHOP (BASED FROM TENBY) – Saturday 14th June 2014 9.30 am – 5.30 pm

If you’ve previously been on a beginners day or have some previous experience of photography, this could be the workshop for you! The workshop will be based in the Tenby and surrounding area. This part of Pembrokeshire offers a wide variety of great locations from coastal, towns and historic monuments and therefore offers a great diversity of photographic potential. THIS IS A NEW WORKSHOP FOR UP TO 6 PARTICIPANTS

ARE THE WORKSHOPS FOR ME?

The workshop are as described although are always designed to be as flexible as possible. If you are in doubt as to whether they are suitable for you, give me a call at any time and if not, there will always be another more suitable for your needs coming up shortly (there is always the Option of a 1-1 day which can be arranged at any mutually convenient day). All timetables are indicative and subject to amendment as weather conditions / group preferences dictate.

WHERE WE MEET:

With both Brecon Beacons workshops we meet at the home of Creative Photography Wales in Talybont on Usk (https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Talybont-on-Usk+LD3+7JA&hl=en&sll=51.896431%2C-3.290984&sspn=0.009216%2C0.026157&oq=LD3+7JA&mra=ls&t=m&z=16) in the heart of the Brecon Beacons and travel to locations from there. With the Tenby workshop the precise meeting point will be confirmed shortly.

WHAT YOU WILL GET WITH EACH WORKSHOP.

· A full days expert tuition with Nigel Forster ABIPP

· Workshops that take you right through from theory on camera control and composition, image creation on location and post processing in Camera RAW with Adobe Photoshop (as relevant to the workshops listed above)

· Tea & coffee (and snacks during the Photoshop workshop!) during the day

· Transport to and between locations is provided for up to 4 people (not applicable to photoshop workshop). We normally ask one other participant to volunteer transport if this number is exceeded.
