Nigel breaks down the important factors of composition when shooting Waterfalls and the importance of looking for details to shoot less obvious angles.

In this film we join Nigel at the Blaen-y-Glyn Waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons as he breaks down the important factors of composition when shooting Waterfalls.

Initially Nigel demonstrates how height affects perspective and how varying this impacts the relationship between foreground and background elements within an image. He then shows the how the angle of the camera varies the progression on elements within a frame and then touches on the impact of viewing angles on the effect of a polariser.

Moving closer Nigel then focuses in on details of the Waterfall, demonstrating the effect of varying the shutter speed, and the pitfalls of relying on in-camera metering. Finally he moves further up the waterfall to look for a variety of angles that could be easy to overlook but can produce a more unique image.
