Highlights from Photokina 2012 Part One

Mark talks to Canon about the new 6D

Over the next few days on the blog we are going to share with you some of the highlights that we saw over the two days Mark and Kenny spent at Photokina 2012 in Germany.

If you don't already know Photokina is the largest photographic trade show in the world and s held in Cologne every two years. It spans over nine halls and covers everything photographic.

Mark and Kenny spent the two days shooting video on what's new and up and coming and you'll be able to see the films on PT4U in the next few days. Until then we thought we'd share you some of the highlights with you here.

We were lucky enough to get our hands on the new Canon 6D and we were impressed. Canon has outed its latest SDLR, the EOS 6D, packing a 20.2-megapixel full frame sensor and integrated WiFi and GPS for transferring geotagged photos and video more easily. Directly taking on Nikon’s D600, the EOS 6D has a freshly designed CMOS paired with Canon’s DIGIC 5+ Image Processor, supporting 11-point AF and ISO 100-25600 (extendable to 50, 51200 and 102400).

The Nikon brand awareness again stole the show. The I AM NIKON campaign has just gone strength to strength since its launch at Photokina two years ago.

No Mark and Mat from Lastolite are not rehearsing for Singing in the Rain they are discussing the new large umbrella range.

Finally for today we wanted to share with you the new ColorMunki Smile by X-Rite for calibrating your monitors and an incredible price.
