Highlights from Photokina 2012 Part Two

If you don't already know Photokina is the largest photographic trade show in the world and s held in Cologne every two years. It spans over nine halls and covers everything photographic.

Mark and Kenny spent the two days shooting video on what's new and up and coming and you'll be able to see the films on PT4U in the next few days. Until then we thought we'd share you some of the highlights with you here.

Sekonic introduces the new LITEMASTER PRO series of touchscreen light control meters. Ideal for all types of storytellers, the L-478 series offers light measurement and control for photographers and filmmakers alike, plus additional wireless flash triggering and power control in the L-478DR model. Mark got an insight into the new meters which we filmed and will be on PT4U in the next few days.

Both Mark and Kenny are huge fans of the Elinchrom Quadra and they got have a look at the new Quadra Hybrid RX. The new Quadra Hybrid AS RX is a compact portable 400 Ws battery flash system for studio and outdoors use.

Complete with fast recycling times, wireless trigger and remote options via the EL-Skyport, the Quadra Hybrid really is a perfect system for anyone who likes to work away from the mains. Our latest firmware manages flash power consistency, remote power variation, LED modelling lamp and even more RX features than are currently available on any other unit.

The choice of the battery is up to the user. Lead-Gel batteries for low temperature robustness or Lithium-Ion batteries for lightweight and high flash capacity.

Two heads are available for the RQ system: an A (Action) head for action freezing flash durations and a S (Standard) head for general purpose photography.

We all liked the new camera bag and rucksacks from Vanguard. The new Quovio 41 camera bag and the new Quovio 44 rucksack with its ability to take a body and long lens just by turning the inner partitions around.
